When I asked the nurse Do you mean hyper? She said yes. Anyway, when I finally got into this clinic (no insurance) found out I was hypo not hyper. Still need to get lab results from the E.R. It makes me angry that the doctor didn't have the common decency to give me a call. I had to call them for the results. Our medical system is a disgrace! Our president did a good thing with the V.A. hospitals. Hope he follows through with the investigation. I'd put some of these generals and admirals right out on the front lines. Hope that answered your question. Believe me, this will never happen again. The doctors made it out like it's no big deal having a thyroid problem. They should make it mandatory for patients to go through some sort of classes or learning process before their given any radio-iodine. Water, water everywhere, and not a drop to drink. The first thing they tried to give me at the emergeny room was ATIVAN...to shut me up. The refused to take the bloodwork the way I requested and I had to go to two more hospitals to get it run properly. The docs don't have a clue..and you wind up without a thryoid with no one to help you. The hell.....is like the line in Apocolypse NOW..
