Guest guest
Hey All, Just a quick note to say HI and that I went to the charge conference in Qld, Australia and had the pleasure of meeting some amazing people. Well finally got to meet Bel.. she is classic...lovely gal, had to have a laugh at her at one stage.. we were in listening to this lady about sleeping disorders and you guessed it Bel was having a snooze.. I thought how appropriate. Got love this gal. Next amazing people I had the pleasure of meeting and listen to were Tim Hartshorne and Brown. What amazing speakers these guys are .. could listen to them all day. They filled my head with so many things to think about in the future as my little cherub grows up. The next two people are fellow aussies, Rob Last and Sharon Barrey-Gassick.Well Rob Last, this man I have to say I learnt alot from as well, I will be making alot of changes and advising the intervention people what I want for my daughter not what they want. As for Sharon, she was able to communciate with my daughter like no other has done before. Tim Hartshorne and I just sat and watched Sharon with Hayley and omg she is amazing. (If only there was away to make carbon copies of this lady and Rob Last so that I could have them permanently by my side to better communicate with Hayley). Ok, best get to bed now.. Have just travelled 800klms by car down the coast home. (Have to get in a plane if I want to go to the world deafblind conference next year) hmmmm... Haven't had a chance to catch up yet with emails. Hope all is well and all the CHARGE princess and princes are doing well. Signing off now, hope the above makes sense I am rather tired, got alot of sleep to catch up on. Love mum to Hayley 2.5years old Australia NSW ____________________________________________________ On Yahoo!7 K-Zone Magazine: Check out the new look http://www.kzone.com.au/
Guest guest
- Isn't it amazing how the conferences change you're whole perception and attitude as far as how to advocate for your child, what questions to ask, etc.?? I loved your comment about telling the intervention people about what they need to do. After having seen Sharon interact with Hayley - you know it can be done, you've seen it in action, and now you want that level of expertise for her regularly - not just once in a while at a conference! And hearing Rob, Tim, and - gosh! The insights are life-changing. I know my daughter absolutely would not be where she is today if not for the influence of all the professionals and families on the list and at the conferences. So hold on to your motivation and do what you can to get others in Hayley's life to " get it " . Michele W Aubrie's mom 8 yrs

Guest guest
I agree, . We are very fortunate to have them working for our children and supporting our children in the many ways they do. And of course the list goes on and on if we add Meg, n, Hartshorne, Jim Thelin, Dr. Davenport, Dr. Kim Blake, etc., etc., etc. to the already mentioned list of people!
