The company said in a news release that the search was tied to " an inquiry concerning billing and health care compliance related matters. " Monte Strait, FBI special agent in charge of the Kansas City division who was in West Plains today, declined to give any additional information about the search, citing an affidavit under seal in federal court. Air Evac's release, issued to the News-Leader at about 5:40 p.m., also said, " The company cooperated fully with the agents' document-gathering efforts, while the agents involved coordinated with company officials so that the company's critical services were not interrupted. " In addition, the release said that Air Evac's Lifeteam's services are unaffected and the company will continue to provide services. Air Evac is cooperating with the government, the company says.
