As a dog lover, I know you won't mind me e-mailing you.

5 year old Saxon is a GSD police dog, in Wales, belonging to the father of a

friend of mine, who is a police dog handler. Despite Saxon being an

excellent and loyal police dog for a number of years, and having saved his

owner from injury or death on numourous occasions, the police force has

decided not to re-licence him as a police dog.

For no apparent reason, and despite the owner being desperate to keep Saxon

as a dearly loved pet, the " powers that be " want him destroyed. In their

words, it is the " RESPONSIBLE THING TO DO " !!!!

The Daily Mirror is going to run an article about him and he may be

appearing on & Judy, but the more electronic signatures we can

Dear ,

This is the first time I've signed an on line petition and I'm scared

because it required my name and e mail address, but I wouldn't have been

able to think of Saxon with a clear conscience if I hadn't signed. I hope

signing was safe but even more that Saxon will be safe.

Dear Sue,

Do you live in Wales? I'm a harper, and listened, breathless with enchantment,

to Robin Hugh Bowen in three different concerts and have all of his recordings,

including those with his group. The Welsh triple strung harp is beautiful beyond

words, but such a challenge to play. I hope some musicians are learning it or it

will be a lost art. I realize that because you are Welsh doesn't mean you are

crazy about traditional music, but the music caused me to care for and read

about Wales. I have a large library of books, both fact and fiction, and music,

of Wales, Scotland and Ireland. I made 3 brief comments along with my signature

for the petition. One was to the effect that I was distressed that such an

atrocity might happen in a country I'd come to be fond of.

This reminds me of the horror stories of the U S Government leaving

behind dogs in Viet Nam. It is so senseless.

No love, I don't live in Wales, I live in England , but just the other side

of the bridge from Wales,

We used to go there every summer for our holidays when Mikey was little.

Wales is famous for its beautiful voices, they have some famous singers, and

also some wonderful choirs.
