I know of at least two state government agencies whose employees were given shiny new badges (like a cop!) on the rationale that they'd " need them if they went to a big emergency. " I'm curious why their state agency's ID cards would not be sufficient. Badges are the LAST thing that ANY official agency should issue as any form of " credential " , they are useless, easily counterfeited and very hard to " take out of a system " . I have an old badge of my Grandfathers for a police agency that no longer even is in existence but shined up it looks might real and official. There is a HUGE difference from having any agency issue you as an individual a piece of ID that states you are a member of that Agency with title XYZ and having a valid credential furthermore having a valid " disaster " credentials is a whole animal unto itself etc. Louis N.
