Guest guest
Hi Girls! Hope everyone is doing well - Everything is status quo here in Massachusetts - except for the darned Patriot's. Anyway......I have 2 questions. The first is, what is the address of that website where you put in your pathology and it " translates " it into english?? Ive seen it refered to here several times, but tried to go back through posts and couldn't find it. Thanks. Secondly, has anyone ever heard of this situation? My friend Tina, who I told you all about several weeks ago was diagnosed with a Stage II B/C thru a biopsy. She opted for a double mast. which she had 2 weeks ago and is doing great. The question is about her pathology report, which her surgeon gave her. She is a triple neg (which I know some of you girls are as well), and had 3 of the 11 lymph nodes involved. Her surgeon is telling her that she has a non-invasive cancer (DCIS) and they couldn't " find " the tumor she had in her breast to biopsy. They said that the tumor in one of her lymph nodes was 3cm and was breast cancer. Her obvious question is what happened to the tumor they saw on the MRI and was biopsied, the one in her breast. The surgeon said it was a mystery........ Have you ever heard of a tumor being completely removed from a biopsy??? She is understandably upset as she had the mastectomy. And, how can it be a non-invasive if the lymph node cancer is being called a breast cancer??? This doesn't seem to make sense to me - does it to anyone else? She's not scheduled to meet with her med. oncol until February 14th and I told her I'd ask you guys what you thought. Thanks for any responses. Hugs! Guest guest
Ellen, One was if you go to Yahoo, I believe it was, and type in nottingham score it should come up and the other was _http://www.breastcancer.org/pathology_intro.html_ (http://www.breastcancer.org/pathology_intro.html) _www.y-me.org/publications/generalpubs/read_pathology_report.pdf_ (http://www.y-me.org/publications/generalpubs/read_pathology_report.pdf) If I was your friend I would go for a second opinion it doesn't sound right to me either. Guest guest
I thought, that if they find it in any of the lymph nodes then it is considered invasive cancer. How they found a lump and then it disappear is beyond me. I can understand if a lumpectomy is performed cause they remove the lump. So sorry I can not help you more. I am sure someone here will have more information for you Best of luck Hugs Char > > Hi Girls! Guest guest
Hi Ellen, My husband is also upset about the Pats. He doesn't plan on watching the Super Bowl. the site is adjuntiveonline.com But when I look at it, you have to register and say you're a medical professional in order to use it. How do people here register for this site? I don't know what to say about your friend's circumstances. If cancer is in the lymph nodes, the Stage is automically 2. I think it is possible to have only DCIS and lymph node involvement. As to the tumor disappearing...when I had my surgery my tumor area was marked with a guiding needle. Did she have that procedure? Does her pathology report mention IDC? -
Guest guest
Hi Ellen, I agree, here in Massachusetts its all about the Poor Patriots!! As far as your friend's story, that certainly does sound upsetting... my only " guess " would be that maybe what they biopsied was a cyst and it drained?! That poor thing for having to go through all that and not being able to find the tumor in the breast tissue after it was removed? My doctors did wire localization so that the tumors were removed prior to the breast. Being in Massachusetts myself, I'm not sure if I want to know who she is even dealing with for a hospital/doctor! Keep me posted on what everyone else thinks, in the meantime I will keep her in my prayers.. Michele Ellen emc_mom4@...> wrote: Hi Girls!
