Guest guest
Hi everyone, Just following up with Lucinda's email to Kimmy. I am a dietitian. You are right--a " quick " way to find your ideal body weight FOR FEMALES is 100 pounds for first 5 feet and add 5 pounds per inch over 5 feet. Then add and subtract 10% from this number to get your range (because of small/medium/large body types.) Note: for MEN, to calculation is 106 pounds for the first feet and add 6 pounds... If you are concerned about weight gain on tamoxifen (spelling?) please speak with your dietitian. Dina Kimmy, just how tall are you!?! I know a weight gain at any height can be scary, but according to a friend who is a dietician, to calculate your ideal weight, take your height, think 100 # for 5', and add 5# per inch for every inch over 5'. then you can factor in 10% either way to take in consideration your body type. For example, I am 5'6 " , so my ideal wieght would be 130 lbs., but can be from 117 to 143. > > Lucinda --------------------------------- Get your own web address. Have a HUGE year through Yahoo! Guest guest
Does your weight have to do with your age also? Michele is not the only one who needs to lose 60 lb! Guest guest
Oh my gosh!!! " Tubes of death " ?! I LOVE it! Yes, I agree. And your dietitian friend sounds as radical as me!! Tell her I tell everyone that drinking soda is like drinking " liquid candy " . (I'm sorry if this offends anyone.) --------------------------------- We won't tell. Guest guest
For this calculation of ideal body weight, no. But there are other more elaborate formulas dietitians use to calculate idea weight that include age, activity level, etc. I would recommend if you or anyone else is trying to lose weight, that you see your registered dietitian. The fact that you have cancer and your body needs to stay strong, etc., means you should be sure your diet is still balanced. Good luck. Does your weight have to do with your age also? Michele is not the only one who needs to lose 60 lb! DOUBLE UGH!! ne --------------------------------- Don't pick lemons. See all the new 2007 cars at Yahoo! Autos.
