Guest guest
I have been debating with myself as to whether I am going to go for diep reconstruction or just implants and be done with it.. I have heard of a doctor in Texas that does " innervation' reattachment that sometimes gets feeling back in the breast.. she does not use the muscle just fat and skin and the vein that is buried between the muscle to attach at the breast.. I would appreciate comments or experiences of anyone who has had this done.. information on former patients in limited.. and I am checking out all options this time before the surgery.. Ihad a skin sparing double mastectomy in June 2006 with radiation 6 weeks ended in October so I know that immediate reconst. is to wait 8 months at least.. Plastic surgeon wants implants.. and did not encourage me to go with diep says failure rate is almost 20% on the flap?? All of the websites say it is only closer to 2%.. UCLA here in California says 1%.. ANYONE CARE TO RESPOND??? THANKS EMAIL ME OR JUST POST HERE..
Guest guest
Hi... I had the delayed Tram Flap done with a great success.. It is highly recommended for those who qualify here in Massachusetts. My qualifications means you need a little fat on your bones, not lots of previous surgeries where this is scar tissue involved and your age. I have complete feeling of my whole breast, something they say is unusual, but I do... Again in Massachusetts, the implants would have been easier and less recovery, however, they are short term, not a long term result. Hope some of this helps.
