Hello , Pam and our other dear Friends,

Thank you for the hellos. We think about all of you so often.

Unfortunately we will not be attending the conference. is in her

freshmen year at York College of PA majoring in Forensic Chemistry. This past

fall Jessie asked Bruce's permission to propose to . So she is engaged

to her boyfriend of 4 years. They are planning to be married once they both

graduate from college in 2010. Not sure if you remember Jessie but he came to

the Ohio Conference with us to help at Uncle Kenny's Corner. Jessie is a

plebe at West Point. We have a lot of expense coming up in the next four years

between college and the wedding so we decided we should stay home this time.

This is my fifth year homeschooling Abby and that in itself is expensive

and very time consuming.

Another reason we are not able to come is that I will probably be having

surgery this Spring. I am going today for a second opinion. I have torn the

tendons in my right foot. I did this over two years ago and now the pain has

gotten worse, with a lot of swelling and I am limping pretty badly. Somehow

they have to cut the heel bone and realign my foot and take tendons from

different areas in my foot to hold my arch up. Then they have to loosen the

tendons in my leg. So with all that I will be on crutches for atleast 8 weeks,

then a boot cast for another 8 or more weeks, physical therapy, etc. They are

saying 5 months recovery.

Poor Bruce he gets to take care of Abby and me.

I would love to come to the conference for I have missed Florida due to

's lacrosse schedule and now California. Hopefully the next one.

Hope you all are well. I am not on the list serve very often but I remember

so vividly draining that blood into a container from Abby's G-tube that I

couldn't help respond. To this day I still check every once in a while to make

sure her stomach juices are the normal.

My love to everyone and I hope that you all have a wonderful time at the

conference.

With love,

Appell

NOOOOOO is NOT engaged and in college Can't be.. I am NOT that

old..Doggone it in Cleveland she was shorter than me (OK just barely). I do

remember Jessie.. great kiddo... guess I shouldn't say that of a soon to be

military officer.. Give my best to the kids.. Take care with your surgery.. I

can imagine somewhat what it will be like.. my docs have been talking knee/hip

replacement with me and I keep putting it off as long as possible. Having just

gotten out of the hosp I am in no mood to go back anytime soon. Bruce will make

a great nurse.

It is very understandable why you will not be planning to attending this year's

conference.

I send all best wishes for healing and health to you.

How wonderful to know that has found her wonderful soulmate and is

engaged. When our oldest daughter, Camille, was married a year ago, she asked

Kendra to be her junior bridesmaid. Kendra was thrilled. The maid of honor

made the bridesmaid dresses and made a sash that matched for Kendra's dress. It

was all lovely and beautiful. There was one small hitch in the church despite

all the practice of walking down the aisle, etc. On the day of the wedding, the

church was rather chilly inside. When Kendra gets cool, the most frequent

response is to start making raspberries. I could tell she was cold, but as we

were at the front of the church, there was no leaving to go get a sweater. I

knew the priest could hear the raspberries Kendra was making in her seat. He

didn't give off the fact he was nervous, about ot, but I could tell he was

speaking faster than normal. Then, when somehow, miraculously, :-), the heat

came on and Kendra stopped making the raspberries, the priest's voice slowed

down to a normal pace.

Everyone was cool with it and it was a perfect day.

, you all will be missed at the conference. We will look forward to the

next one!

Dear Pam, Yuka and ,

Thank you for your kind remarks about the wedding. And, Pam, I didn't even

realize the pun. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

You are all cool.

:-)
