Endo wants me to use RAI

Hi all! I had bloodwork done last month....the Dr. called & told me I

had low levels - I failed the bloodtest! So I went back last week &

drew blood. Yesterday he said I need to do the RAI drink. ASAP. I

want to go to a NYC dr, probably Dr. Katz, not my endo here in Orange

County. History: had symptoms for a long time...so in 2003 had Dr.

rounds - diagnoised Graves. Took PTU & heart pill for 2 years. 12/05

Endo took me off all. Blood test said I was cured! I stayed cured

until now 2/06. Has anyone else had this experience? Any input would

be appreciated!

For a certain percentage of Grave's patients hyperthyroidism does

return, especially when you hit life's little bumps along the road.

One thing I have learnt though is those in the second time around

usually hit remmission quicker..not so much because it is easier but

they are already experienced with the medicine and taking care of

themselves etc.

I would ask your Doc if PTU worked the first time why they do not want

to try it again?
