Guest guest
March 13, 2007 Dear Coalition Members, We are making a final push to get members to sign Congressman Markey's group letter. The technical deadline is today but we have a little flexibility. It is not too late for your congressperson to sign. To date the following Congressmen and women have signed on: Ed Markey- MA Tammy Baldwin – WI Conyers – MI Delahunt – MA Barney – MA - GA Lynch – MA McGovern – MA Neal – MA Jerrold Nadler – NY Roskam- IL Tierney- MA If your representative is not on the list, please call their office and urge them to sign on. If you do not have the name and number of the key staff person, email me and I will get that for you. For more information, please visit our website, http://dbcoalition.org/ Thank you for all of your efforts. Sincerely, Betsy Betsy L. Guest guest
See the info below re: Federal Deaf Blind funding. Go to the link http://dbcoalition. <http://dbcoalition.org/> org/ for more info. For IL families in Ray LaHood's district, I just spoke to one of his staffers. He is on the Appropriations Committee. So he won't sign on to the group letter. The group letter goes to the committee so it would be like signing a letter to himself. However, he may (if we can help him see the importance) write his own letter of support for the funding. His letter would be submitted to the Committee Chair. Go to his website http://www.house.gov/lahood and follow the link to email him our request. I have heard repeatedly that as little as 5 contacts can be enough to take an issue from the bottom of the pile to top priority. Do you suppose we can get 5 letters to LaHood? Guest guest
Michele, I'm going to forward your email re: IL to (she's still there). She was in town recently and attended 's team meeting. All of the education has brought forth a dynamic and well-informed woman of the issues involved. I was really quite stunned by her contributions.
