Im really looking for the company that was at the ems conference last yr, it was velcro and they had a camo version that they supplied to the military i believe. ReD Ironically enough (timing is everything) I just got my copy of JEMS today and there is a feature article on the need for pelvic splinting. I've not read it as it's still out in my truck (I'm lazy today). Louis N. Molino, Sr., CET FF/NREMT-B/FSI/EMSI Freelance Consultant/Trainer/Author/Journalist/Fire Protection Consultant LNMolino@... Guest guest
Yes. It's very sophisticated and complicated though. It's called " The Folded Sheet Pulled Snug Around The Pelvis And Taped Together Pelvic Splinting Device. " <eg> Gene Gandy > > What prehospital pelvic splints are out there? Guest guest
I can't help it if I remember when there were no Jaws and we took off doors and roofs with air chisels or a leaf spring sharpened on a grinder, propelled by a small sledge hammer. We also use comealongs and the local wrecker to help us get car doors open. Carpenters' crowbars, baling hooks, and other common country stuff were used all the time. All this together cost the grand sum of $49.95 to put together. We did that in between walking 5 miles each way uphill in the snow barefoot to attend classes. LOL we also did both of these and other things like pillows and cravats for ankles and the like. At times I look back on all my courses over the years since 1976 (first CPR Class in 6th grade gym) and I often think one of the best and most used over time was a good old ARC Advanced First Aid course I took then later taught at my VFD.
