Guest guest
Hi, my name is Sandy. I've been reading some of your messages and am very pleased to find a place to ask questions and share with others. I had my lumpectomy on Jan. 11th. My lymph nodes were all clear and she got good clean margains. For those things I am very thankful. But because of the size of the tumor (2.6cm) they are recommending chemo before the radiation treatments. I will see the oncologist next week to discuss that further. I guess what I was wondering at this point is, how long is my arm going to hurt after the lumpectomy?
Guest guest
I had my lumpectomy on 12/6 and felt good enough to return to work on Jan. 2. I also had 14 lymph nodes removed. Glad to hear your margins were clear and the nodes were negative. Best of luck in your further treatment. Rose > > Hi, my name is Sandy. Guest guest
Welcome to the group Sandy. I didn't have a lumpectomy I had a mastectomy and didn't have any problems with it being sore. They took 23 lymph nodes and one came back cancerous. The surgeon gave me exercise to do and they really help. One was to stand in front of the wall and take your fingers and walk up it. Each time going a little higher. I will keep you in my prayers. Guest guest
Thank you nne for the welcome and the advise. I've heard the same type of exercises from other people too. I am going to the Medical Oncologist next Wed. to find out the game plan. I wish I could go today, the waiting is the hardest. > > Welcome to the group Sandy.
