I too have found solace in writing along with my artwork. My

artwork is something I locked away as a child not thinking myself

worthy of it. I didn't open that door again until I was almost 40. I

write poetry when I'm moved by something. Don't often share because I

am just a novice but posts of the past couple of days brought one

out. Would like to share. Haven't titled it yet. Any suggestions?

A single cry to say your here

A cry for me to hold so dear

A single teardrop shed for you

To bring forth something sweet and true

A single touch from heaven above

A gift from God, given in love

A single second, a single breath

A breath I'd give till none were left

A single moment, a single heart beat

Giving life, a wondrous feat

A single hour, a single shadow

A fight to win, we'll face the battle

A single day, a single milestone

With simple prayers as we reach for home

A single week, the summits peak

The warmth you hold is all we seek

A single month, looking upon your face

I've come to know amazing grace

A single year, a soothing peace

Life is free and you'll take your piece

A endless telling our story goes

A book we'll never come to close

Very nice! Thanks for sharing! I can't think of the perfect title. I'm

horrible with titles. " A Single Year " would sum up that it's coming from

the first year. I'll be interested in other suggestions.
