Guest guest
I want to thank anyone and everyone for their prayers. Christian's tetrology was fixed on Feb 22nd. He came through the surgery excellent. In fact they discharged him after only 4 days in the PICU straight to home. Just in time for his 7 month birthday. He also gained 10oz between the surgery date and yesterday. We are meeting next week with the Cleft/Lip, ENT and about 8 doctors to now work on his hearing and Cleft repairs. His Coloboma is severe, but he is seeing Mommy and Daddy's face and with the help of the GREAT therapist is becoming more and more functionally sound. His visit to the Pediatric Opthamologist basically was a continue to wait and see attitude. We pray every nite that someday with modern medicine that maybe they will be able to grow optic nerves and other parts to repair this genetic defect since we did bank his cord blood. Hope all of you enjoy the conference, not in this years budget for us, but maybe next year. Guest guest
Tim, I'm so happy to hear the surgery was a success. Who do you see for opthomology? Ethan's dr. is Kimberlee Curnyn in Arlington Heights/Elk Grove. We really like her. We estimate Ethan's good eye to be at 20/400 corrected. He is already showing us that he can see well enough to be able to read large print. Distance vision is more of a problem for him. We weren't sure for a long time what Ethan's visual potential would be, but he does amaze us with how much he really can see. E-mail me if you want to " talk " privately about any issues, recommended doctors, etc... Jody Jody - mom to Ethan (ChARGE) and --------------------------------- The fish are biting.
