Is it possible for you to find a different prescription drug plan? I know there are many of them available, and you have to check what medications you are on to see which ones are best for you. Maybe your pharmacist can direct you? Otherwise, you might see if your doctor will switch you from Novolog to Novolin, it's a lot less expensive, but it is a little different.
