Guest guest
Tragedies in the EMS world affect us all and just as I am appreciative of others who post these annoucements - so it is with great regret that I post this annoucement regarding the loss of one of our company's EMTs this morning. Duane Haley, Athens EMT and Tyler paramedic student, was killed in a single vehicle accident near Canton. Duane had just gotten off shift in Athens and was on his way home to see his family before coming to Tyler for paramedic class. Duane was a fine young man, liked by all who met him, a dedicated paramedic student, and just an excellent person. He leaves behind his wife and an infant daughter. If you are a person who believes in the power of prayer - please consider this family and pray that their grievance be somehow lessened. Guest guest
Thanks Jane for your words and prayers - that family needs them. Maybe we can forward these messages on to the family. EMS personnel are the " same " company basically to me and I know you feel the same way. Duane Haley's class (a somewhat small PM class) is having the harder time with this. Fellow members of these classes get so tight so you know they're hurting right now. All instructors know how that works. If anyone is interested and can attend - the funeral is in Canton at 10am Saturday (Eubanks FH). We are wishing that there will be many in uniform ( & I'm sure there will be). We also expect (if the family's okay with it) to have a fly over by the area air programs (Air-1 will be doing so). More reminders to all of us to appreciate life, count (and say thanks for) your blessings, be nice to each other, and kiss/hug your family when you see them. >>> 04/25/07 9:30 AM >>> Don, my heart goes out to you and the ETMC staff for losing one of your own like this. Guest guest
Don, I have just returned from Florida visting my mother in hospice and have not been online for a week or so. I am sorry to hear of the death of the young man who works for ETMC. On behalf of Champion EMS I want to extend our condolences and prayers for the family of Duane. It is tragic any time that someone is the victim of an automobile accident and even brings it more home to us in EMS if they are one of our own. May the Lord comfort the family and those who knew Duean well.
