Guest guest
Not to get into too much here but I have had a very very long week end. Some times stress comes your way and you just have to deal with it, unfortunately my body is not liking the idea right now..my allergies are back full force, been to the hospital twice for shots( easy I was already there for someone else) ... Got home showered, washed my clothes including shoes , jacket etc..just incase and the allergies still have not calmed down.. Now my shakes are back , my pulse is high and I think I borrowed E's little friend to tap dance for a little while..the off switch in my brain is broken. Now I know what is happening, I am stuck in overdrive,my whole body is in overdrive..stress put me there and there is nothing I can do about the stress at the moment but I need to get out of overdrive and fast.. Anyone with any ideas? Thinking I am going to go jump on the Orbitek for a few mins and see if that kicks me over the edge so I come down.. Guest guest
With an adrenal surge.. the stress over reaction... remember it's the 'fight or flight' hormone... it is our protector in times of danger... You need to 'use up' that surge of hormone.... So.. fight or flight... It involves either something with a passionate enthusiasm to simulate the fight response... or exercise to simulate the flight response.... So major cleaning... an exciting game... exercise.... whatever you can do to kick up physical and mental response to use up the adrenal surge.... Stress, panic attacks, anxiety attacks it's stuff that is too familiar to many of us... I think it's a good thing to discuss here... coping mechanisms to handle that stress stuff be it a big stress or a little stress.... Stress, even over little stuff, builds over time and can some times reach a point where it can really mess up what we're trying to accomplish in balancing our hormones... ... says the person that is all stressed out today over stuff that, for now, is un fixable... Guest guest
I have noticed that after the sedatives for the cleaning I'm shaky in the mornings... I always do that when my adrenal function is low, problem is... I can't tell which part LOL. I do know that if I take my inhaler and/or an adrenal pill the shaking goes away in 30 min-1 hour. I read that fish oil can help to reduce cortisol levels... my docs think my cortisol is raised and before I moved I took fish oil pills with my multi vitamins every night and that was during the summer when I was losing weight. I think when I stopped taking them that is when my weight started staying steady and stopped dropping off. If you can rest (not necessarily sleep) but rest a lot and stay away from high fructose - I notice for me that it really makes my adrenals ache. It also makes me more tired. Either way, good luck . Guest guest
You need to 'use up' that surge of hormone.... You are right, I went on the Orbitrek, then clenaed the kitchen, hallway, bathroom, made lunch, started dinner and started a loaf of bread..that and paced back and forth for a while, garbage, recycling etc.. I just hate that feeling when it hits and gets stuck. Kats3boys
Guest guest
I work with a few children with severe anger problems. When I see them start to boil I take them just outside the classroom and get them to do star jumps, fast, vigorous and as many as possible. They understand that they must use up the adrenaline surge and it seems to work. If only that would work for me at the moment. I'm snowed under with work and extra presentations and my brain just will not respond. Trying to pull the ideas out is like trying to find a pea in a lake of custard. At the moment I'm wishing that I was retired! --- topper2@... wrote: > With an adrenal surge.. the stress over reaction... > remember it's the > 'fight or flight' hormone... it is our protector in > times of danger... > > You need to 'use up' that surge of hormone.... > > So.. fight or flight... > > It involves either something with a passionate > enthusiasm to simulate the > fight response... or exercise to simulate the flight > response.... > > So major cleaning... an exciting game... > exercise.... whatever you can do > to kick up physical and mental response to use up > the adrenal surge.... > > Stress, panic attacks, anxiety attacks it's stuff > that is too familiar to > many of us... Guest guest
Wow... if only teachers had that idea with students instead of having kids force themselves into being conformists, you know?
