Do any departments on this list server allow their field personnel to wear

shorts as a summer uniform? I do not want to start the debate over whether

or not shorts should be worn. We each have our own opinions about that. What

I am trying to obtain is a list of departments that allow this.

Thanks!

Fort Worth Fire Department wears shorts, although they are a first responder

they still have a lot of patient contact.

Mansfield Fire Rescue allows the EMS shorts. Morale is up, no problems with

shorts and is an option for the firefighter.

I am OK with the kilts until the winds go over 25mph...there are some

things in life I just don't want to know, and which of the people on the

scene are going 'commando' is one of them...:)

We are allowed to wear the black EMT shorts during the summer time.

they must be just above the knee, they must have the side pockets in

order to be work friendly. They have worked out for our service the

past few years.

Infact, its pretty much the services in Galveston county or nearby. However, I

myself am not fond of it, but in critical situations, jump suits are supplied

for the medics wearing shorts. As of the 15th, medics have started to wear their

shorts. Luckily, my partner and I decided on no shorts, so we don't have a

debate problem.

I have read the responses with great interest. I've looked at it from all

sides--- from safety to comfort. The only conclusion I can come up with is I'M

TOO BOW-LEGGED TO WEAR SHORTS!
