Ethan went to his AVT today and I asked her where I could get more information

on it. She suggested the AG Bell Academy for Listening website. It is

http://www.agbellacademy.org.

It tells you exactly what AVT is and how to locate a certified therapist in

your area. There are only 5 certified therapists in the whole state of IL so I

know it is a very specific therapy which requires hours of training to get

certified. From the website, it says " AVT teaches the child to use hearing as

its primary sensory modality... " For Ethan, even though we do AVT, we also use

sign with him, but do concentrate on his listening at certain times during his

day at school and at home. Hope this information helps.
