Guest guest
I had my 1st chemo treatment on Dec. 21st '06 and the 2nd week after the treatment my hair started to fall out which was no surprise, I would told to expect that. My question is, did anyone else experience soreness? My head became very sore.
Guest guest
Yes....my head was sore while my hair was falling out. It felt like my hair had been pulled too tight all day long. Once the majority of my hair fell out, it didn't feel that way anymore. Guest guest
Hazel - yes it did feel a little sore and also it felt a little " creepy crawly " - like I could feel the hair dying. That was my clue to get the buzz cut. Now.........7 months after my last chemo - I had to go last week and get a haircut!!!!! My hair started to grow back around September with a massive amount of thick curls. I always had very straight hair - so this is .......different. It's about 3 inches and I was looking a little like Will Farrell - so got a trim/shape cut last week - felt strange to be cutting it but it looks much better now - less like " grow out from chemo patient " and more like " brave short haircut girl " . Hang in there and Hugs! Guest guest
Thank you Ellen, my mother had breast cancer in 2000 and her head never got sore and when her hair begin to grow back the texture of it was very different. Before my hair started to come out it was thinning in the top even before chemo so I keep telling my family maybe my hair will forget it was thinning and come back much thicker -- hahahah -- A girl can hope -- right? Guest guest
I hope its okay to jump in here about hair..... I'm 5 months out from my last chemo. I have heard so often about hair coming back curly even when someone had straight hair before. Mine is coming back curly... in the back, but its still straight on the top. I find that really strange, but then..... Guest guest
I am 8 days out from my first chemo, so far my hair is still there but my head does itch more. I am thinking about this time next week I'll have my friends take it down really short...like a crew cut. It is looking thinner to me but that could be my imagination...like Hazel...I thought mine looked like it was starting to thin BEFORE chemo anyways. Guest guest
I've been told by my doctors that when my hair starts growing back in that there is a high probability that it will be thicker and curlier than before. It might even come back a completely different color!!!! Soooo...you may end up with more hair than what you started with!!!! Guest guest
I'm only two months out from chemo...but my once dark very curly hair is now light and straight! I'm hoping in time the curls will come back! > > I hope its okay to jump in here about hair..... I'm 5 months out from my last chemo.
