I agree w/ in regards to attended the meeting first w/out your lawyer.

I am the immediate past president of our SEPTA and a parent member. By law,

in our state, you have to have a parent member or the meeting can be

postponed. Also, at any time if you do not like the way the meeting is going,

you

can adjourn and have it rescheduled. Do you have a District Social Worker

that is working with you? DO you know what the district's plan is? There

should be communication before the meeting.

Also, in regards to nursing, my daughter is 11, has been going to school

since she was 3 with a nurse.

The no child left behind law " Requires the district to pay for the nurse.

We still have home care nursing that our private insurance pays for, however,

since this law about 6 years ago, it is now the district's responsibility.

A nurse comes to our house and rides the bus to and from school w/.

What you need to have is a letter of medical necessity from your Doctor, or

Doctor's orders stating it is medically necessary. Make she you give the

reason

why your child needs a nurse. ie; not custodial reasons or something that

an aide can attend to. As long as your doctor supports you they cannot denie

you a nurse.

let me know if I can be of any further help, I have copies of laws etc.
