Just goes to show the " everybody's different " theory. hugs, Dari
Guest guest
Hi, Usuallly a lurker, sometimes add a comment or two, but I wanted to celebrate my half way mark of Chemo with this very supportive group. Yesterday, I finished four A/C with flying colors and next month start on 4 doses of Taxol. Both the Onc and AIU nurses say it won't be a problem, although I keep telling them I hear things to the contrary from folks who have gone through the treatment. Mine is scheduled for every three weeks. Any tips, tricks, etc. I am very active, job is one that I'm on my feet 5 days a week - although DH works from home and has completely taken over. Kidlet is grown and gone so we don't have the little ones to worry about. Did a mascetomy in October, 3cm tumor with good margins. SNB with no node involvement, took three or four. Tumor was both DCIS and IDC but was pretty agressive, thus the strong push for Chemo. I'd had a mascetomy 22 years ago and with clean nodes then was sent on to live my life. Big change and big adjustment for me this go round! This group has been very supportive and I'm glad to have found it. Thanks, hugs and prayers. Guest guest
Hi Carolyn, Congrat's on your milestone! I have a similar diagnosis and received the 4 A/C's but didn't have the Taxol so I won't be much help there. I'm sure the other ladies will have some experience to share with you on getting through that. Once again - Way to Go! Guest guest
Congratulations, Carolyn. As you have seen, everyone is different. I had A/C pre surgery and now am doing taxol and herceptin weekly (12x for taxol). I am not having bone pain or nail problems, as many have reported. I am having terrible GI problems, but that is my weak spot (Crohn's). Runny nose, headaches, wiped out. I am not working, I am so impressed that you have been. Good luck with the next step! > > Hi, > > Usuallly a lurker, sometimes add a comment or two, but I wanted to celebrate my half way mark of Chemo with this very supportive group. Guest guest
How amazing that you went 22 years with no treatment! Do the docs think this new cancer is related to the old or a horse of a different color, entirely? Exactly what do they base the agressive diagnosis on? Sorry for all the questions. If I live 22 years without further treatment I will be 83 Good luck!
