Guest guest
Wes, I'm a lot further away from any of the scheduled sites. Of course I live in the end of nowhere way past middle of nowhere and am used to travel. Abilene or San antonio being the closest and they're more about 300 miles away maybe more. I agree we need more sites and quickly. I was suprised to see that Austin, El Paso, Midland-Odessa, to name a few don't have tests. They do have computor sites but not practicle. I take my EMT-I class final exam the 18th of April and hopefully get course completion and will be able to test but looking at the list kinda wonder how long I'll have to wait or how far I'll have to travel. Help us out Max. Renny EMT-B EMT-I one of these days hopefully maybe possibly > > The table which I cut and pasted showing the currently available NREMT > advanced exams did not agree with ' formatting, so here it is, retyped: > > 5/5/2007 Palestine, TX > 5/10/2007 Pasadena, TX > 5/11/2007 Hurst, TX > 5/17/2007 San , TX > 5/19/2007 Deer Park, TX > 5/19/2007 Amarillo, TX > 5/26/2007 Abilene, TX > 6/2/2007 Deer Park, TX > 6/2/2007 Deer Park, TX > 6/9/2007 San , TX > 6/23/2007 Abilene, TX > 7/21/2007 Deer Park, TX > 8/2/2007 Dallas, TX > 8/8/2007 Mineral Wells, TX > 8/18/2007 San , TX > 8/25/2007 Abilene, TX > 9/13/2007 Dallas, TX > 9/15/2007 Abilene, TX > 11/10/2007 Abilene, TX > 12/21/2007 Abilene, TX > > > Again, sorry for the fomatting error. > > > Respectfully, > Wesley A. Guest guest
Wes Is this for your area only. I don't see any sites in South Texas at all. San is the only central texas site I see. What about Houston, , Corpus Christi, Brownsville or Harlingen or El Paso. Are these areas on request only or scheduled. Guest guest
Henry: I was, of course, concerned with Austin, but the problem is larger than Austin. South Texas is largely uncovered as is far West Texas. (I think I might've mentioned that in a later email...) -Wes Re: NR woes continued Wes Is this for your area only. Guest guest
Henry, In the Houston area, it's the Deer Park site. Even though it is not part of Houston, for purposes of this discussion it could be considered Houston--one of those smaller towns that is almost part of a big city. Guest guest
Thanks, I didn't notice Houston listed on the list. Guest guest
I agree. Having to drive several hundred miles to do what has always been done by the programs is going to drive any volunteers we may attract out the door. I don't see it improving the numbers of Paramedics coming out of the programs either. I want to send my sincere thanks to all who have worked so hard to bring the State of Texas EMS program in to this wonderful process called National Registry. It has truly been a pleasure working with a process that allows you to pay your hard earned money to both the National Registry and the State of Texas and in return get nothing but hassels and issues from National Registry and nothing from the State. With that bit of spewing out of the way. I will say that I do appreciat any and all of Maxies efforts. Thank You Maxie for at least trying. Will the State get back to taking care of its own business? Not before I make my career exit I am afraid. Maybe never.
