Guest guest Posted July 11, 2006 Report Share Posted July 11, 2006 hi i'm a type 2 insulin dependent .my son just turned 13 he is tall and thin .,but if he skips a meal he starts to shake.i took his blood sugar today after he got home today it was 170 on my sidekick.he told me he had not eaten all day .i had him eat and wated 2 hours it was 115.should i get him a apointment with the dr.it worrys me that it was so high .why would it be that way? My son was diagnosed after complaining of peeing often (a few times over night, plus often during the day, etc). He was also drinking huge amounts of water and milk and had lost 30 lbs sometime over the previous year. I don't know if the numbers you are getting point to diabetes but it wouldn't hurt to have him tested.
