Guest guest
Hi , From people I've talked to here in Columbus, the treatment at the is very Clinical oriented. A friend's mom was there for a while and then switched to a different oncologist. Some people like different types of doctors, so keep that in mind, plus you have to keep in mind some people are at different stages of treatment. So what was useful for a friends mom may not be true for you. My mom's treatment is going on in the Toledo area, however I live in Columbus area. If your interested in adjunctive therapies like acupuncture. This is the doctor, Dr Wang, I use for back pains. I talked with him about my mom's diagnosis and he mentioned that accupunture can help w/ the nausia and pain associated w/ chemo, and after post surgery. My mom isn't interested in driving down here for treatment, so thats all I can offer. If you decide to go for treatment, the forms for intake are on his website, so you can save yourself some time by printing them out and getting them filled in before you go. http://www.wangacupuncture.com Connie > > Does anyone have any breast oncologists that they recommend at this > cancer center? I decided to go there over the for a number of reasons. I am NOT recommending AGAINST the , it's just that I don't think it's the best place FOR ME (however, I did go there for my second opinion, and may go there for a third, just to get their opinion). Anyway, I've heard Dr. Shapiro at the is very good. One thing you might want to know is that for breast cancer at the you do NOT go to Columbus. The breast center is in Dublin. -Frances -- -Frances Bartels *** ki0dz@... Guest guest
I live in Columbus as well. I am recieveing my treatments through Ohio Health which is Riverside, Grant and Doctors hospitals. I have been well pleased with the people on my care team. I have a breast health care nurse who calls me each week, sometimes twice a week to check on me and the Oncologist and staff are great. I had several ask me why I didn't go to the ...this was a personal decision. The JAmes is well advertised, so people hear that name more, and this does not mean it is better or worse then the others, everyone has to go where they feel most confortable and at ease with their specialists. I was told that all the area hospitals get their info from the same cancer research. Go where you feel best and make decisions based on that.
