Guest guest
I upped my thyroid meds the other day, then started having really bad body aches and pains, feeling like the flu was coming on, but never got a head cold... my body is still aching today, 3 days now. Have I caught something? Or is this a thyroid connection? I upped a 1/2 grain, I was on one grain, and have been taking one and a half grains. I am afraid to take any today!JackieFurther note----Compare this to taking insulin for Diabetes, when the Pancreas will never again make it's own insulin to cover the blood sugar that you've made in your blood stream. The Pancreas is not being rejuvenated again, rather, it is being bypassed and something outside of the body is taking it's place. Re: ConfusedThis is where i get confused too. My antibodies are very high, meaning my body is attacking the thyroid, right? So, wouldn't upping my Armour make the thyroid more active and the antibodies want to fight harder?jackie www.jordanreimer.comSupport My Music....Jordan Reimer Music
Guest guest
It might be coincidental, it might be cuz the adjustment was too much for your body all at once.. some folks do okay with a half grain dose, others do better on less. How long were you on the one grain dose? If it's been only a few weeks your body may not be ready for an increase yet at all.... Are you multi-dosing (splitting your dose and taking in smaller doses through the day) or taking it as a single dose. Some folks find that they do better multi-dosing thyroid meds that contain T3, like Armour. T3 acts quickly and sometimes, depending on how the body is doing, too much at one time is rough on it... Multi-dosing breaks up the T3 so that less is taken at a time, making it easier on the body. T3 that is taken is 95% used up, or passed from the body, within 4 hours of taking it (not to be confused with the half life of T3 that is already attached to receptors). Might not be a bad idea to go back to one grain per day for a couple of days and see if that relieves the symptoms... then start up, again, IF IT IS TIME TO with a quarter grain added per day. I'm really sensitive to dosage adjustments... sometimes having to do the increase every second or third day for a while before I'm taking it every day... Takes time to learn what OUR body is comfortable with, but learning to listen to it pays in the long run. I think... Guest guest
I was on one grain since June 06, so seven and half months-ish. I had been taking it by swallowing it whole with water, then someone said to break it up and let it dissolve under your tongue, so I made the half grain increase along with the sublingual change all at the same time. Do I take any today?JackieIt might be coincidental, it might be cuz the adjustment was too much for your body all at once.. some folks do okay with a half grain dose, others do better on less.
