On the first Saturday of the month we like to do something a bit different here on TTSG. We chose a topic that we feel may be of interest to our members as a way of opening up discussion on topics that we may share other than Thyroid and all of it's related 'joys'.

It's a great way to get to know facets of each others lives and to make our support family just a bit closer, and maybe a bit more fun and interesting.

So for this one day we get to go a off topic for the day....

!!! Theme Day February 2007 !!!

....What do you do when it's TOO cold to go outside?...

With much of North America getting hit with an arctic blast for the next several days (we're below zero (F) in Minnesota today) Many schools are either closed or starting late and some folks are staying home from work.

What do you like to do when it's tooo cold to go out the door and are house bound for a day or two?

Theme day guidelines

As a courtesy to those that are pressed for time please begin the subject line of your posts with the words: Theme Day. That will allow folks to skip over the post and come back to it later when they have more time available. We don't wish to add the extra burden of emails to those with enough to do.

Theme day is the first Saturday of the month. If discussions get involved and extend for more than a day or two because we're having fun sharing our lives, we'll move the thread over to our CAFE group (if you're not sure how to do that, contact me, and I will take care of it), it's a group set up for members of any of the thyroid support groups to come to share jokes and stories and be generally silly with Off Topic subjects. That way we can still visit with our friends without the support groups being over run with off topic posts. Many of our members have limited time and need to stay focused on the topic of thyroid care, etc.

For anyone not a member of the TTSG Cafe Group feel free to contact me to request an invitation. The group is open by invitation only to allow only support group members to participate.. We don't want just anybody dropping in and spamming or flaming us.. it's our private area to relax and have some fun!

Hi,

Thought I would start this out now as not sure how things will be

tomorrow as Thursday while getting into the shower I slipped and

fell. So I parade around with my right arm in a sling because it

broke. So I am on heavy duty pain meds and by tomorrow could be

sleeping most of the day.

When the temps really drop we make sure that we don't have to go out

for anything and then put on the electric log fire and get out the

PS2 and hubbie and I spend some lovely quality time playing games and

watching our fav tv programs as the wind howls and the snow falls.

Munch on our fav snacks and maybe open a nice bottle of wine to go

with it. It feels almost as though we are totally alone on the

planet that is until the snow ploughs come roaring down the road. We

really enjoy our alone time.
