Nair works wonders on facial Hair and of course other places!!!! lol How long have you been on femera? I know my oncon will either suggest it or Arimidex, Still undecided if I will take any!!! Guest guest Posted January 14, 2007 Report Share Posted January 14, 2007 Honey, it wasn't just a giggle, I was laughing out loud, so much so, that my husband wanted to know what was so funny. I started on Fermera on Nov 27, 2006. At first my onocologist told me I would be on tamoxifen (this was midway thru my Taxol with Herceptin). My tumor was 2 cm and out of 8 lymphnodes, 1 had a microscopic trace of cancer. I had clean margins after the lumpectomy. I also did 4 rounds of Chemo every 21 days with the AC and then 4 rounds of Chemo every 21 days with the Taxol and Herceptin (that Chemo was a piece of cake, the first was difficult). I have 6 weeks of Radiation (the last week was a boost) and each session was approximately 1 minute. Oh yes, I was 99% Estrogen/45% progestrone and HER2 positive. I had stopped having periods on 10/2002 so I did wonder why I was being considered for tamoxifen but thought that since my estrogen levels were so high, maybe that was the reason. In any case my onocologist went over both medicines and the side effects. I was concerned about the potential for blood clots with the tamoxifen and not too concerned about the side effects with Fermera. I figured with a healthy diet, exercise and multi-vitamins, I could handle those effects more easily. I still have the residual effects from the Taxol of sensitivity to my toes and bottoms of my feet, but those don't really bother me. Sometimes I am slow getting up from the couch but once I get to moving I am fine. Basically I have yet to experience any side effects from the Fermera so I sometimes wonder if it is working. I have been using the Nair and tweezing on the facial hair. On other note, I was told that my hair would come in darker but it is more silver now.
