Guest guest
Hi Patti, My lump did not change sizes Do you eat/drink a lot with caffeine? I know caffeine can cause lumps and when you stop it the lumps go away. Possibly some of what you are feeling is from that? With a strong history of breast cancer I would delfinitely want an ultrasound and if necessary a biopsy. I will keep you in my prayers. When you ladies found your lump; for those of you who waited, did you find your lump to change sizes with your monthly cycles? Did it ever get smaller after your cycles? I know that I am paranoid and I know that I have lumpy breasts. However, I also know that I have a strong family history of it hence the paranoia. Anyway, I am honestly tired of running back and forth to the doctor every time I think I feel something different. I went 105 days between periods this last time and about 2-3 weeks before I started I felt a lump in my arm pit. I was on my period when I finally said something to my mother and she suggested that since I was on my period and it had been so long since my last I wait to see what happens after I am done with my cycle. It's not as big, but I can still feel something. thanks for the input Patti in Alaska
Guest guest
Patti: From what I can tell, no growth in the body is normal unless its supposed to be there. Lumps aren't. I agree wholeheatedly that you get an ultrasound (doppler if possible) to see what's really going on. Cafeine must go - cause of pre-precancerous condition known as fibrocystic breasts. Those are abnormal cells, even though benign, that could at some point experience a DNA mutation. Guest guest
Hi, I don't understand the caffeine stuff, I drink a lot of caffeine, I am a southern girl, so drink a lot of coffee and tea, but I am also a huge drinker of mountain dew. I don't like any of the other soda's. My diagnosis is pending a biopsy. The caffeine stuff has me worried, did I make the lumps in my breast be there because I drink so much caffeine? just thought I would ask about the caffeine stuff would like more info on it. thanks Lori Re: lump growth Patti: From what I can tell, no growth in the body is normal unless its supposed to be there. Guest guest
Caffeine can cause lumps to appear. I have had a friend who called me frantic because she found lumps in her breast not too long after her Moms diagnosis. She went to the dr and he told her about the caffeine and to cut it out and the lumps were gone. Drinking/eating caffeine is not going to give you cancer but it CAN cause a lot of worry when you find a lump. My friend stopped all the caffeine and has been ok since.
