Guest guest
, Why did yours come out with no stones? no way to treat inflammation? I think I may have that... Pain under right rib ... Sue I had no stones & mine was inflamed when it came out . Re: some numbers form labs
Guest guest
My doctors, because I had no stones were very hesitant to take them out. I could 'feel' it was my gall bladder and I knew I had to get them to listen to me. Their concern was that insurance may not pay for it if there was no 'evidence'. So I said, you know what... if that's the case, I'll pay for it myself. My job, relationship and future is on the line, do you really want me to die or tell everyone that you didn't listen to what was wrong with me? A few days later, I was scheduled for surgery. I felt bad to, he was a really nice doctor LOL. Re: some numbers form labs
Guest guest
,That's how i feel. I told the doc I was having classic gallbladder attacks, he asked what I thought "classic" was. I told him and he did agree they were classic, but still is sending me to the GI doc. Will the GI doc be able to figure it out of it's my GB?JackieMy doctors, because I had no stones were very hesitant to take them out. Guest guest
I went to a GI doc I believe initially and he did a scope test and looked around to make sure I didn't have ulcers. I also had a scraping of my stomach done, well they did, I just you know, kind of had to be there . You will just have to be persistant. If you know that is what is wrong with you and it's nothing else (like allergies, medication reactions, altitude, etc.) then keep stating your case. If you can't, you may have to play the system for a while until they believe you. The downfall of some docs is they just don't believe us sometimes... sometimes they do... just keep in mind that they are trained to be skeptical and look beyond what we are telling them. For instance, if you say something like 'my stomach hurts'... that's a kind of generic answer to them. But if you say something like 'my stomach aches and feels very upset when I eat anything with x in it' or 'if i drink water or eat rice or go on the BRAT diet, my symptoms go away mostly... no x, no y, no z, but for other foods that were common in my diet, when I try to eat them in less quantities than i did before (give examples) i feel this way within x amount of time with eating them'. The more descriptive you are, the better. Doctors sometimes hide their frustration with skepticism. When they cannot help us or they are unsure, their hands are slightly tied. However, if you can help him understand you completely and what you are going through is REAL, so real you're coming to see him for it, rather than suffering, he should listen. I used to say things like 'my stomach hurts', i have 'pain in my abdominal area', etc. but my doc would always get frustrated and ask me more questions... so finally I started to say things like the above and 'well, my stomach is very upset lately, I can't keep anything down, I know I'm not pregnant. Safe foods like Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast, (known as the BRAT diet) and water I start to vomit up now, this only happens after I eat. Before I eat, I feel mostly normal. Although, I do have this pain in my side that hurts after I eat and sometimes before. Oh, what does it feel like? It feels like someone is shoving a very hot serrated knife through my side, right about here and twisting it around a bit. The pain is so sharp, I drop to my knees because it takes my breath away. When I touch the area where my gall bladder is in my body, which is right here (study a diagram of the human anatomy to make sure LOL) it feels tender, my skin feels hot, and it feels like i'm getting a shot there with a very long needle and it only used to hurt when I would gently press here and here, now it hurts when I press here and here (indicating larger area & more pain).' When I told my doc that, they gave me this holy sh** look LOL. Oh, and for a while you may also have phantom gall bladder pain. I did for a year or so after I had mine removed. Please let me know how it goes for you . Re: gall bladder - andrea , That's how i feel. I told the doc I was having classic gallbladder attacks, he asked what I thought "classic" was. Guest guest
Hi ,I did try to be very specific this time. Like saying "classic gallbladder attack", and then explaining what that meant. Along with the pain on a one to ten scale being a ten and if i hadn't had this pain before (over the last seven years) and living through it, I would think I was dying and be heading to the ER.He asked me all the BS questions like have I tried antacids, etc... duh, ya think? over seven years I have tried everything on the mainstream market and on the alternative market, such as swedish bitters, dandelion root..... I guess I will go see the GI guy. he also scheduled me for a chest xray, not sure what that will prove. My TSH (which is the only one he tested for, no frees or T-3 or T-4) came back at 1.94Hugs, JackieI went to a GI doc I believe initially and he did a scope test and looked around to make sure I didn't have ulcers.
