Guest guest
Hi, I am new to the group and so lost. I didn't realize there was so much info out there on the thyroid. I have been Hypothyroid (Hashimoto's Thyroiditis) since 2000 and have been on 25mcg of Synthroid since. I continue to feel tired all the time. I just had my levels checked in October, and I was a 1 (TSH). I fight my weight, and my memory is getting worse. I can't concentrate at work or on my school work. It is destroying my life. I saw an endo in December. He tested me (but didn't too many tests) and said I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. My levels were all over 300 for the antibodies. He told me to get better I should quit my job and go on a cruise for a year!!!! He said I need to get sicker before I can get treatment from him. I am so upset. This doesn't seem right. My neck has a dull ache on the sides (not in the front). Every doctor has felt my neck and said it doesn't feel odd. The endo felt my thyroid and said it was loose and not rubbery. Does anyone have a GOOD ENDO rec for me? I am in Indiana. How do you get doctors to listen and do the right tests? Thanks,
