Guest guest
Has anyone had any luck growing their hair back? I used to have a ponytail the diameter of half dollar. Now its the diameter of a dime. I'm running out of hair! Bald is not my idea of a good thing. e
Guest guest
Multi vitamins helped mine. If you look in the hair/nail vitamins they have all the B's. Eating fat helps mine to. If I don't eat a 'greasy' meal or have a few spoonfulls of olive oil, I can tell the difference. When my hair was really dry and lifeless I would heat up coconut oil/olive oil and place it on it, wet or dry. It worked really well. Eating gelatin (plain or the jell-o variety) can also help give your hair the extra boost it needs. Using shampoos that are good for dry/damaged hair work well to. If you use conditioners, Dove makes this deep treatment conditioner that you use once a week or two to keep your hair extra soft and shiny. VO5 hot oil is good to use to. Something else you may want to consider is this.. after you shampoo your hair, a few hours later, look at your nails, your skin around your finger nails... if the nails/skin is dry and/or see through, your shampoo is stripping your nails of it's moisture and so it will do the same thing for your hair. That is a good rule of thumb. Diet can also play a big part in it. We also can't forget thyroid levels... Good luck . Hair loss Has anyone had any luck growing their hair back? Guest guest
Hi e, Yes, hair loss is a pain, isn't it ! I was on Levo for five years and it just seemed to make me lose more. Then, in March last year, I changed to Armour, and now my new hair is about 2cms long all over my head ! It's such a joy that I can't stop touching it. lol What brand are you on ? Guest guest
Hi e, Have you had your ferritin level checked? My doc tested mine and it was very low; he told me that low ferritin is responsible for most female hair loss. I take Ferritin, B12 and L-lysine (an amino acid). Florisene is a multinutrient supplement for women with hair loss, that contains all of these that you can buy in the UK. I think it is also available in the USA. Evening Primrose oil is also recommended and I take that too in high doses. I did wonder if HRT had anything to do with my hair loss, so I stopped that and am using bio-identical progesterone cream. Well my hair is coming back! Which of those treatments is responsible I'm not sure..... maybe a combination of all of them. --- summitanimalrescue summitanimalrescue@...> wrote: > Has anyone had any luck growing their hair back? Guest guest
Yes, , but don't forget that if your hormones are out of whack, it doesn't matter what you put ON your hair, it won't make it grow back (and she was talking about LOSS of hair, not dry hair). Lack of thyroid hormones is very often the cuprit, but it could also be ACTH, Cortisol, DHEA, Estrogen, Growth hormone, Progesterone, Testosterone - and the latest research shows that Melatonine has a role to play as well. Very complicated ! Lili > >Reply-To: The_Thyroid_Support_Group >To: The_Thyroid_Support_Group > >Subject: Re: Hair loss >Date: Fri, 26 Jan 2007 00:46:08 -0500 > >Multi vitamins helped mine.
