I'm still trudging along. I had many of the bad side effects happen to me and caused some real damage. I'm just now getting back on my feet. (9 months out from chemo) I disappeared from the radar because I kept going in the hospital. Then I felt like I couldn't be supportive to anyone. (I was sooooo sick) BLUK! Every time I started to write something I felt like I was whining! (I probably was) :-) And I thought I might be a little scary to others as well. I still haven't been staged. I don't know if you remember I started out as stage 3 but then in the midst of chemo they found nodules in my lungs. Each time I go for another chest CT they tell me these things are increasing but they are too small to biopsy. Talk about leavin' a girl hangin'! :-) I got so sick of all the crap I stopped goping to my doctor appts. (after chemo was done) My main complaint these days is the chemo brain. You know, I never really put too much stock in it when the women were mentioning it. But, as time went on I completely lost myself almost to the point of feeling actually stupid. I also gained 50+ pounds and so not only can I not think correctly I hate the way I look. I'm finally feeling well enough to exercise but even that is such slow-going it's driving me nuts. I miss my hyper, crazy self. I'm glad to see you back. I hope you did okay thru your chemo. How did Hubby hold up through it all? HUGS to you my dear, Dari
Guest guest
Bone pain is a common side effect with Taxol. Everyone's experience, as usual, is different. I finished 12 weekly Taxol treatments the end of October and didn't have bone, but I did have leg cramps off and on. Some docs think that the weekly treatments of lower dosage each time is just as effective as every 2 weeks, but with fewer side effects. That worked out for me. I had 4x a/c dense dose before that. Congratulations to your sister for completing the first phase of her treatment as a Stage III! That was a big milestone for me to pass. I finally finished my last radiation treatment a week ago last Friday and am still in Happy Dance mode ... at least until doctor checkups start January 30th. Ha! ~Cheers SharonK_MN
