Guest guest
Hi , I have a daily pill box for just this reason— I DO forget since I multi dose. I woulda taken HALF the dose ‘sted of none or worrying about doubling up. Sue It's worse than I realized, the brain fog these days...I got up this morning, went to the kitchen to get a drink cos I was very thirsty, and went back to the office to see if I could get online (my wireless connection has been down a lot lately, they're coming Tuesday night to try to fix it) and I fiddled with it a bit trying to make it work, then I thought...Did I take my thyroid meds?? I have no idea. I walked back into the kitchen, looked at the bottle...no good there, cos I don't know how many I had left... still no clue if I'd taken them today or not. No idea!! So I thought..ok, if I didn't take them, I should. But if I did, then I don't want to double dose myself, even though it's only Synthroid and probably wouldn't really hurt anything in the long run, especially considering I'm standing there trying to remember things and knowing I must be getting low again. So...I took my nutri-meds adrenal stuff and skipped the synthroid for the day, thinking, oh well, whatever. LOL! So, should I have taken it anyway, possibly double-dosing, or should I have done what I did and skipped it? Opinions? I am too lazy to look up the fact sheet on a slow internet connection to find out what it says. It probably says, if you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember and if it's close to time for the next one to skip it, but they never tell you waht to do if you forget, except of course birth control pills, then you have a big elaborate thing to go through depending on how many you missed. Guest guest
LOL.... I'm not laughing at you ... Just wondering how many times I've done that. More than I can count on both hands I think. I sometimes would take my meds, I sometimes would wait until later. If you didn't take them, you'll probably feel it... me personally, if I don't take my dose, some days I can feel it immediately *when the next dose is due*. Some days I can just skip a dose and it doesn't matter... Our bodies are funny like that. I got into the habit of setting an alarm on my cell phone. I'm lucky because if I don't answer the alarm, the message will still show up on my screen, so that if I miss it, I have to exit out of it before I can clear it off. Until I 'trained' myself, that is what I did and it is the only thing that worked. I also carry the pills in a little watertight pill bottle that fits onto my keychain, this way when I'm out I know to take them. Now I use my phone alarm so that when I'm busy I still remember to take my pills. Good luck . Guest guest
I get ribbed cuz pill boxes are for “old people” lol! But I can’t do without mine — I take 5 meds a day, plus the thyroid meds are a 3x dosing. I also take 6 supplements daily! Sue I have pill boxes, but I just never needed to use them before. Guest guest
IMO, anyone who DOESN'T use a pill box for their meds is endangering their lives. I tried that "turn the pill bottle upside down when I was taking ONLY T4, and I just couldn't remember which way I had turned the pill bottle for what reason, lol. Not good. Even if you're taking only vitamins and minerals, it's a good idea to use a pill organizer. Let them call me an LOL, but it's not their lives that are at stake. Guest guest
Hi . Double dosing one time isn't really going to do anything, one way or the other. I"ve done it to myself a time or two before with my Armour. I couldn't tell any difference at all. In that situation, I'd probably just go ahead and take the dose for possibly a second time. wrote: It's worse than I realized, the brain fog these days...I got up this morning, went to the kitchen to get a drink cos I was very thirsty, and went back to the office to see if I could get online (my wireless connection has been down a lot lately, they're coming Tuesday night to try to fix it) and I fiddled with it a bit trying to make it work, then I thought...Did I take my thyroid meds??
