Guest guest
Hi all, I am still trying to get in for my biopsy, has been a difficult process, but I wanted to ask, my left breast is still increasing in size, and there are some really strange things going on. Sometimes it feels like when I was breastfeeding my kids, in the nipple area, no discharge though, it is very painful when I breathe on the left side, and my left arm is becomming weaker. I can't even hold a 2 quart pan filled with water now. I have told the doctor trying to get me in for the biopsy, he has indicated it may be an aggressive cancer. the lymph node area is also increasing in size and its uncomfortable to have my arm against my side. I did go to the emergency room last friday because of the breathing pain but it was a horrid experience. I ended up not getting any treatment. The Dr. berated me for being in his emergency room and stated the next city from there, and where the dr. I have been seeing is, treats cancer too. well, the Dr. I have been seeing was just as outraged as I was and called the director of the hospital I went to. So they are trying to get me in to be seen, it is a well respected leading cancer treatment hospital. I just was wondering if anyone has had some of the same problems physically that I am having before thier biopsy, or treatment. I was also wondering if anyone had felt very tired/physically drained or not. I am also battling that too. I read everyone's posts and feel this is the best group of any kind that I have ever belonged to. thanks ya'll Lori __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Lori, It is quite normal for you to feel tired and drained after all you have been through. Even if this turns out to be nothing the emotional roller coaster you have been on would make you feel that way. Praying that the biopsy takes place soon. Love and prayers wending your way. Guest guest
Lori: Don't take any " berating " from any medical person or anyone else. You know your body better than anyone else. Strange that you mentioned the symptoms that you do. Two weeks before my diagnosis, I felt like I could barely put one foot in front of the other. I didn't have any energy and it took all the effort I could have to get to work. I wore out easily. I was having some minor pain under my arm from time to time and also in areas of the breast which eventually became the biopsy site. Just let your doctor know what's going on and keep us posted. Guest guest
Thank you Jan, I am sorry you felt the same as I do before your diagnosis, It's hard, but I am glad to know I am not alone. The Doctor my sister works for has been great, has seen me pro bono, has my sister sneaking me in the treatment rooms, but there isn't much he can do without the biopsy, He is pretty concerned and is pretty positive that it is cancer. He worked previously in the mayo clinic in ville Florida, So has some experience. He has been on the phone with the director of shands over the incident friday. it was hard to root for the gators in the champoinship game, after the treatment I received from the hospital affiliated with the school but I had to keep in mind the football team had nothing to do with it. so overcame my attitude there. This stuff really teaches a lot of life lessions quickly in a lot of ways I am finding. I thought I had learned a lot when my ex husband had leukemia, and lost his battle but I have realized it was just a drop in the bucket. I printed out some chemo caps patterns yesterday, I am an artist and crafter, my mother also sew's, and crochet's, so between the two of us we will be making some chemo caps, not just for me if I need them but to donate to others as well. My neice has been growing her hair out for quite awhile, for cancer paitents, even before this stuff with me came about. She told my sister that she was going to ask them when they cut her hair to make a wig for me. I was really touched by that she is only 11. I have since told her that I would like her to stick with her original plan and donate it for someone else who needs it. I would like that more, because I think there might be others out there who might need it more, and don't have the benefit of a neice like mine. I am truly blessed with my family, they have a lot of heart. take care Lori Re: weakness in arm Lori: Don't take any " berating " from any medical person or anyone else.
