Guest guest
sounds like they all had a blast!!! maybe a great respite for you once in awhile-- went fishing! Hi all! I just wanted to share a cute story. Last week, as my son got off the bus, our neighbor pulled up in his truck with his 14- year-old son. They were on their way to go fishing at the mouth of the canal which runs behind our backyards. They stopped to talk and our neighbor joked " , do you want to come fishing? " . walked right up to the door of the truck and tried to open it. So my neighbor asked if he really wanted to go and said yes. So they asked if it was okay with me and took him fishing. After a couple of hours, they came back and said they had such a good time! They didn't catch anything because was " chicken-dancing " (flapping his arms) because he was so excited! My neighbor said he was showing him how to cast the line and gave the pole to , who promptly dipped the entire pole into the canal LOLOLOL. flapped so much the boat was rocking! My neighbor's son managed to catch one fish and when he reeled it in, kept saying " No thanks, don't want it!! " and tried to get as far away from the flapping fish as possible. Well, he refused to get out of my neighbor's truck at home LOL. This is the first time has done something like this and he had such a great time, it made me (and him!) so happy! I just wish I had been there, but I could totally picture it in my head!
Guest guest
- That's awesome! You know, by seeing in the neighborhood and around, the neighbors felt comfortable enough to include him in their outing. And they didn't mind that he messed up their fishing - but they had fun with him! Just points out how important it is that we keep our kids out there in the community so others become accustomed to them and begin to expect them and accept them. I'm going to send a story I share at an inclusive child care training I do. It's called Chucky's Story. I couldn't find it anywhere on-line. It's old and uses the R word, but the message is wonderful. I'm gonna send it to and see if we can post in the files section. It fits with 's fishing story. Guest guest
Hi , that was a great story, thanks for telling us, (5) is a major " flapper " so I could picture this very well, it wouldn't surprise me if the boat tipped over from all that excitement! It's just lovely! in Australia > > Hi all! > I just wanted to share a cute story. Last week, as my son > got off the bus, our neighbor pulled up in his truck with his 14- > year-old son. Guest guest
We live in a cul-de-sac and we are lucky to have awesome neighbors all around. There are several children on our street and everyone is very accepting of . These particular neighbors I wrote about have been AWESOME and we became fast friends when we moved in. They adore to death. will often stand at our front door and watch the goings-on in our neighborhood and when these neighbors come home, he'll crack open the door and yell across to them " Hey! How YOU doin'?? " like that guy on " Friends " . It's funny but sometimes he keeps on and on. I joke that he's the " Mrs. Kravitz " of the neighborhood (the nosy neighbor from Bewitched) LOL.
