Guest guest
" 1. Could the steroid have triggered my afib? " xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx There was a study recently published correlating steroids greater than 7.5 mg and afib. My question is do the steroids cause your first afib episode or if one has a history of afib but has been in nsr for a long period of time and then takes high doses of steroids, will it initiate another attack? Guest guest
It said " A daily dose of at least 7.5 mg of prednisone was associated with a sixfold increase in risk of new onset atrial fibrillation " I just came off of a 3 week course of Predisone and the MD questioned me several times about afib, PVC's and irregular beats. When i asked why the 3rd degree I was told that many people have increased arrhythmia's while on Prednisone.
