Guest guest
I had my sentinel node mapping done at the time of surgery, as soon as I was " under. " Ask your surgeon's office tomorrow; I'm sure they will tell you. Just remember, whenever you have it, you will " peepee " blue, so don't get nervous. Guest guest
Can someone please tell me when is sentinal nodes mapping done? Someone has mentioned to me that she went for that test few days b/4 her surgery. My surgery is on Wednesday and I wasn't told to go for any tests. Does that mean that I'll have it done on the day of the surgery? Please share with me your experience regarding the tests on lymph nodes. Thank you. Guest guest
I too had mine done the day of surgery. It takes the dye and radioactive material an hour or so to go to where they want it to go...the sentinal nodes. In case they don't tell you...your urine will be blue later as well as BM. HA HA--I was NOT told but figured it out. I guess some people are not told and think something terrible is wrong with them, at least that is what the nurses told me the next week. I still have some blue around the injection area...my husband calls it my " Smurf boob " I hope I can say that here! :-) If not I appoligise, but I HAVE to find humor in as much of this whole experiance as I can. Guest guest
Mine was also the same day. I had to go to the radioloist (7am)to get a radioactive injection (dye) then I was off to the hospital for the surgery (930am). The injection burned a bit, but wasn't unbearable. Best of luck. Guest guest
I had same day as well - you will get an injection to " map out " where the sentinal is on the day of your surgery. Check with your surgeon to be sure it's on the schedule, if you have not been told the specifics. Best not to have any surprises on Wednesday. Best of luck!
