Guest guest
Hey guys, Good Morning/Buenos Dias! Well, you know that I had been taking computer classes for around a month now, right? Well, I noticed that ever since I started going there, even the cooking class I had before, it feels kinda different, strange/wierd from a regular type school. I mean, it doesn't have what's needed for D/HOH students, and seems that I'm the only one there, right? I do get easily frustrated, a bit hard, sometime I feel like the teachers aren't helping me much. I guess it's my hearing loss, and need some special kinds of learning/teaching skills, right? Most of the students are either middle ages or older senior like people! Few of them are around my ages. I did asked the front desk a couple of times before, if they got some kinds of special accomondations for me since I'm hard of hearing. Like AM/FM Systems, Intepreters, and so on! They said no, they don't have any of it! My 2 computer classes are almost over, like around the 1st week of March I should be done with them. But, I just wish that this kinds of school would required special accomondations for deaf/hoh students! I noticed that my 1st class, MS Word 2003, half of the students dropped out! Well, I guess it was a hard class, and I been meaning want to drop out, cuz I'm not getting enough help, and my hearing isn't that 100% good! Just cuz I have my hearing aids on, everyone thinks I can hear just fine, right? Well partly right, and partly wrong! I tend to get confused that certain letters and/or words tend to sound the same, I can't hear low noices/voices well, distance/far away I couldn't hear well too. How do you fight this? Is there a way that I can get my own rights? Lemme know, thanks! Ol' Chipper > --------------------------------- Cheap Talk? Check out Yahoo! Messenger's low PC-to-Phone call rates.
