Hi nne and all,

I vehemently disagree. I bet this study was done on 'store bought'

juice. I make my own fresh juice with fruits and veggies from my garden

and get the full effect of the vitamins and minerals. I have a vitamix

which makes juice of the whole fruit or veggie. I don't throw out the

fiber of the item, this machine makes it ALL into liquid. When I drink

my carrot juice each morning, it's the whole carrots I'm getting, the

liquid and fiber. I don't 'juice' the carrot, I get the whole carrot.

This has made a great difference in my health. I find that whenever

someone quotes a study you can always find a study which says the

opposite. I tried the vitamix years ago because I love V8 juice and

carrot juice. I have found over the past 9 years so many benefits to

having the whole fruit or veggie. When I drink something from the

vitamix, I know exactly what went into it because I grew it.

Okay, getting down off my soapbox.

Just to keep on topic, I'm the oldie of the group going on 22 years survivorship

(a word?).

Thanks for the clarification. I'm a vita mix

*whole*-juicer too and it does make all the

difference. Sometimes with these treatments it's all I

can do in fact. I felt sad to see the incomplete

information. Thanks for speaking up.

Whole juice is a wonderful part of the diet for anyone

who seeks the benefits of fresh fruits and veg, even

nuts and seeds.

(And: Home-*extracted* juices are full of sugars it's

true, but also vits and min that I'd be quite

surprised to find in soda pop! So... not really " no

better than " , huh?)

*About Juicing, Sodas and Diet:*

**

*Numerous scientific, perr-reviewed studies have proven the link between

diet and cancer, time and time again. Apparently, there simply is no

question. Read " The China Study, " for the most extensive study ever done on

protein consumption and its link to cancer, as well as carb ingestion (good

carb only) and its link to reduction or revention of cancer. I have

experienced CANCERS HEALED through raw foods jucing and eating...for more

than ten years. So I guess your opinion doesn't match my reality. & that's

perfectly OK.*

**

*When addressing any chronic illness, many factors must be reviewed before

dietary changes are made. However, one thing is for certain our bodies

needs the GLYCONUTRIENTS, vitamins, minerals, trace elements, enzymes and

co-enzymes provided, ALTOGETHER, from living raw foods. Juicing happens to

be one of the easiest ways to ingest LOTS OF NUTRIENTS all at once without

sitting down to eating 10-20 servings of raw veggies and fruits daily. *

**

*A very good book to read is " The Hundred Year Lie, " which is a bit like

what you appear to be posting about juicing, sodas and whatever it is your

trying to say that makes no scientific or biological sense. *

**

*People who have serious issues need not be mislead into further

nutrient-depletion. All that does is make money for the medical industry

and cause more pain and suffering. Do you know it is estimated that each

cancer patient diagnosed today will cost, through insurance and traditional

medical intervention, approximately $1.3 million dollars? Too much money

being made from illness in this country, IMO. Health and well-being are

much better, less expensive, less invasive, less painful and wrenching

methods, IMO.*

**

*If you would like I will post the 50 or so peer-reviewed nutritional

studies that substantiate what my former contribution stated. I think I

will post them soon....so no one is mislead on this board. Their battle is

WAY TOO IMPORTANT IMO. WAY TOO IMPORTANT. Wisdom not idiocy should be the

creed on this forum. *
