I have been doing the same – two comforters long “jammies” and socks — I have the heat up to 70 degrees and I have never done that in my life :(

I usually “heat” to 64 at the MOST... And I was still cold with it set to 70....i am bummed :( my basal temp was about 96 last week when I checked – it had been up to 98.4, 98.2 etc..before I switched to armour. I dunno what to do at this point since my labs a month ago showed exact same readings as the levo/cyto combo — maybe I just feel better on the synthetcs?

I sleep with TWO down comforters. My poor husband fold the top one over and it ends up on me, so I really have three layers of down, but once my feet get that " corpse " cold (I like that term) I cannot get them warm again.

Jackie

I have been waking up cold every morning.  It's a different deeper internal cold than the one you get when you're outside in the winter.  It's almost corpselike and I don't like it one bit.  I have a heavy down comforter, which up to now has done the trick to keep me nice and warm even in Canada.  My basal temp the other morning was 95.5.  I wonder if a bedtime dose of Armour would help with that.

I'm starting to feel the same way. I think the key to the Armour is getting up to a full replacement dose, because otherwise, it suppresses the TSH so much that I don't get even what I used to get from my own thyroid. But for me, I don't seem to be able to get passed the increases. I'm not seeing the doc again for 3 months and I'm getting many hypo symptoms back again. I'm really quite sorry that I ever made the switch, but on the other hand, I would have always wondered... Judy

Exactly how I feel – physically and mentally about the switch.

I would have always wondered.

But now I get achy bones and feel sooo cold even when everyone else is warm or even hot.

It’s a deep cold.

I think for me the Cytomel was also a mood elevator — it is used for PTSD and depression so that is a good “side effect” it had as well.

I don’t see my doctor til end of March and think I will go back — even with triple the cost —

my TSH is suppressed as well and adding anymore T4 will put me off the charts but I still have low T4F.

,I haven't had sit down focused time to read the chakra stuff, but I want to and chat about it.Sue,I have my heat to 70 as well and constantly cold, i wear gloves in the house!I had wondered about synthetic, like a lot of meds, maybe some people adjust to synthetic better than others and vice versa? It's hard to imagine anyone would do better on non natural forms, but stranger things have happened. Jackie~I have been doing the same – two comforters long “jammies” and socks — I have the heat up to 70 degrees and I have never done that in my life :(I usually “heat” to 64 at the MOST... Jackie--

One thing about synthetics: they have been created to BIODENTICALLY match what our bodies make/need.

I am a natural person by heart but know that natural does not equate with good in all cases, i.e. Poison ivy, poison mushroom, many herbs, etc.

Lots of natural things can harm us. I am not saying armour does but the fact that it’s natural does not automatically make it healthy for us PLUS it does come from a pig, not a human.

I went back on the levo/cyto this morning and I am already warming up and turning off the heat. I can see that the straight T3 is what works for me.

It means about $45 a month vs. $6 with the armour but I need to do what works best.

HI Sue,I am a person who is willing to change things that aren't working for me. I think Armour may not be working for me, as much i had hoped it would. What kind of doc do you have? A general, internal, endo???  How would i approach my doc about just trying out the synthetic?  It's been several months since my last were done, although never had a test for antibodies, should I ask for more testing before he prescribes?  He will be brand new, I switched docs. JackieJackie--One thing about synthetics: they have been created to  BIODENTICALLY match what our bodies make/need.I am a  natural person by heart but know that natural does not equate with good in all cases, i.e. Poison ivy, poison mushroom, many herbs, etc.Lots of natural things can harm us. If you wait til your appy then meds are a guess and usually a good doc

will run labs and have you call back in a week to discuss them.

I would call the doc and ask the receptionist if the dco could call

labs in or send you a lab slip so you can get fresh labs a week before

your appt.. this way the dco will have a clear picture of meds you ar

eon and how the meds are working.

My appt is this Friday, and with the wonderful Kaiser group, there really isn't

a receptionist,

just the call center that sets up appts. I did pay for copies of my old lab

results, I guess I

could bring those? But they're not up to date.
