Guest guest
I have been trying to potty train my almost 4 year old daughter for about a year now. For some reason she is not getting it. Or I should say she understands the concept and will even hold her poop until we put her on the potty first thing in the morning but she will absolutely not tell you that she needs to go to the potty to pee or hold it until she hits the potty. Someone suggested that it might be b/c she gets so many liquids (she is tube feed) during the day or that maybe she doesn't get the sensation until it is too late. Is this a CHARGE thing or is she just not ready???
Guest guest
Hi , my daughter was 5 years old before she even slightly got it, she is now five and a half and still has some accidents depending on how tired her body is. She would only go if I put her on the potty and could sit there for absolute ages with nothing happening. She would often have accidents and just sit in it and it didn't seem to bother her at all. I think alot of the problem is her low muscle tone and she mearly could not feel the sensation of bowel movements, I also don't think she has a good sense of smell, so could sit with poo in her pants for ages. She still needs to be told to go to the toilet and goes to a schedule rather than relying on her body to tell her. She still wears night time nappies and will for a long time. With balance problems it is also hard to go to the toilet by herself, she has to get her balance, pull her pants down, try to get up on the toilet, hold onto the wall or toilet seat, wipe herself (not very well) and get down off the toilet, pull her pants back up again, now that for a person with low muscle tone and balance problems really is a huge accomplishment , just the thought of it makes me tired. Good luck Australia > > I have been trying to potty train my almost 4 year old daughter for about a year now. For some reason she is not getting it. Guest guest
My son is 9 years old and he just potty trained this year. Some train earlier some later. He still wears diapers at night because he is on continuous feeds at night. Don't give up. It just takes longer for our little ones to get it. a Sharp wrote: I have been trying to potty train my almost 4 year old daughter for about a year now. For some reason she is not getting it. Guest guest
Hey great on the day time training! Though i was trained earlier I still had major day accidents in grade 1 and 2. (i dont remember if it was cause i didnt feel it or i was too wrapped up in whatever activity i was doing lol) I do have one quick funny story about my " accident " . Well. I went to the washroom, luckly mum knew it was probably a good idea to take me as i was old enough i was potty trained but I was still having some day accidents. Anyways I had a kilt on. *its a skirt that kinda wraps around and has buttons or a belt keeping it on*. Well i thought I had to actualy take my skirt off to go to the washroom so i kinda piddled myself cause i was too slow at undressing myself in time. Luckly mum told me next time all i needed to do was lift the kilt, not take it off. I remember she was so nice about it too. Anyways enough of my ramblings, i have to be someplace by ten and need to wash up first. Since i fell of my chair 2 hours ago my side kinda hurts so i should probably give myself a little extra time to walk to where I need to go (its kinda freezing rain/wet snow outside atm) bye!
