Certification Query and other computer challenges

Dear Stakeholders,

As you may know, DSHS implemented new regulatory licensing software on

February 19. We have encountered several issues, including having to

manually enter applications and being unable to check certification and

licensure status using the Certification Query. Technicians are working

to resolve the issues, but we do not know when the system will be

completely operational. Even with the computer system's challenges, the

applications are being processed in the normal time of 4-6 weeks.

While the Certification Query is inoperable, we will post a list, in pdf

form, of all certified and licensed personnel each Friday by noon. This

list, available on the Cert Query page or at

http://www.dshs.state.tx.us/emstraumasystems/ras.shtm, will allow

personnel to manually search for their certification status. For further

information please call the Certification line at . Your

call will be returned as quickly as possible. However, please understand

that we receive hundreds of calls a day and there may be a delay in

returning the call.
