Hi Andea,

Yah, feels like a stabbing deep inside on the upper upper upper right side — so you had your gall bladder out?

What allergy foods do you think would have prevented it?

Curious and concerned Sue

I have a lot of food allergies (I just posted them a few minutes ago so they should show up soon) all I can tell you is that if you try elimination diets to weed out possible allergens it might help.

What other symptoms do you have with the gall bladder pains??? Do you have IBS type symptoms??

Here's something for you all to consider... how many of you all of a sudden have your grip ability go, start stumbling and feel like you lose motor function and control of your muscle system?? That is a food allergy.. it's actually an anaphylactic symptom... that is one way you can determine what you are allergic to. Another is to rub a mashed liquid version on your forearm to see if you break out. Another is to do that and skim over the area with a sterilized needle, just enough to scratch. I don't recommend doing it however, because if you have a bad reaction then you'll need to go to the er... we all know how that can get lol.

I noticed when my gb pain started it would only happen when I ate in certain areas of town... fried foods, greasy foods, or just unhealthy foods.. then it migrated to the safer foods. Honestly though I just was eating one thing or another that I reacted to constantly. Idiot. BIG mistake. NEVER DO THAT :).

Once my gall bladder was out I felt better... except the 18 months of diarrhea that followed. Eat lots and lots of rice.... lots and lots :). Hypoallergenic and good for you.

good luck,

andrea

oh, now that my gb is out... (post 18 months of diarrhea... stopped to the day to... i thought the doc was joking LOL) i only have ibs problems now when i have an allergy. i had my gb out in 99. The following January I was diagnosed as hypo. I think it's a tell tale sign much like tendonitis, ibs, anemia, etc. all of which I've had.

Thanks for the info .

I don’t really have IBS symptoms – maybe twice a year I do get a bad case of “it” but otherwise, normal.

The stabbing pain is pretty much there throughout the day on and off and at night.

I eat very bland – no mustard, gravies, peppery stuff, etc..borrrring like I like it LOL~

My husband has not complained of anything since he has had his GB out but I think he has diareaha based on the state of the toilet sometimes, gross I know, sorry.

,Do you eat plain organic white rice?I have been trying to move my whole family away from the wheat and white stuff, so just today bought brown rice pasta. I get so confused. First we should do all soy, then i find out that is not good for me (hypo), then do lots of wheat, to find out that is not good for folks who have a gluten intolerance.I have a book called Prescription for Nutritionally Healing.  When I read about Celiac disease, it said that being Hypothyroid can cause it.How in the world do we know what is the truth and what is just good advertising? Thanks for your patience, I have had very little lately.JackieI have a lot of food allergies (I just posted them a few minutes ago so they should show up soon) all I can tell you is that if you try elimination diets to weed out possible allergens it might help. Hypoallergenic and good for you. good luck, andrea

IBS is basically bloating, cramping and can be a mix of diahrea,

constipation and vomitting and if you are lucky all at the same time..

For me it is spasms.. I can literally feel the spasms in my digestive

track..hubby bugs me once in a while and tells me he can see or feel

the baby kick..

Not going as often or not emptying when you go is a sign of

constipation..IBS can be a cause of constipation but then so many

other things can be too..

I eat plain white organic rice. Sometimes I eat jasmine rice, sometimes brown, sometimes I eat it boiled in chicken broth, in butter & sugar, it all depends on my mood :). there is an organic brand of jasmine rice, you can buy at Kroger that comes in a box, a 3 pack in the organic frozen section and you can cook it in the microwave in 3 minutes.

The white stuff isn't so bad for you... enriched is the white stuff. It has b vitamins and lots of other things. Brown rice is more natural rice and isn't bleached or anything. You can also buy rice in the husks.

What you should focus on is eating good quality food that doesn't have a lot of fillers.. this doesn't mean you need to spend a lot of money, it just means that you should eat as good as you can afford to. I've been in the situation where I had to live off of pre-boxed mac & cheese daily to eating organic for all of my food needs.

Rice flour is a good flour for people who are allergic/intollerant to wheat or to other types of flour. It is more dense and can be used in things like pasta, bread, and other baked goods. I personally love to use rice noodles (in the japanese section of the supermarket) as they come kind of coiled and look like angel hair... they cook quickly and are pre-measured servings.

The truth is as individual as the person telling it... what yu want to do is find out what foods are good for you particularly. If you have to avoid gluten, wheat, soy, etc. you definitely don't want to add foods that have those, because even if you have good healthy foods that contain those things, what's the point if they make you sick? You can also speak with a dietician or nutritionist and they can help you customise your diet for your metabolic type and to avoid allergies.

If you need a diet high in protien or to have lots of veggies & fruits, you have to add that in. I made a list of the foods that I can't have and put it into memory. That is how I pick foods... everything else is fair game LOL unless I have a reaction to it.

If something new needs to be on the list, I put it on to avoid it to. When you know what you can't have, it makes it easier to eat the foods you can, because you don't have to worry about it. Good luck :).

oh, and the simple act of chewing is enough to stimulate the digestive tract into thinking it needs to digest which can trigger IBS symptoms... if you have symptoms when you chew gum, that's why LOL
