I don't know how common it is, but my son was on it up until around 15-16 months

to help with secretions. It is also called glycopyrrulate. The theraputic dose

range is pretty big, so it can take some experimenting to get it right for your

child. Too much, and the secretions get too thick and are really hard to

suction. Not enough, and you can't tell it's doing anything.

Kylah,

has been on Robinol for several years and we have not had much

trouble. What we have found is that when she is " naturally " dry the

secretions are very thick but she does get them up and out herself.

When she is " overly " wet, it just helps keep the drool to a minimum.

has had her salivary glands removed but she still tends to

have lots of secretions so the robinol makes them managable.

My daughter is 9 mo. with CHARGE and has been taking robinul since her

first mo. of birth. Her dosage is now 1ml 3 times a day. The doctor

says to skip a dosage if I think she sounds dried. In her throat. If

skipped a dosage a few times but notice if I skip, I have to suction

her quite a bit.

My son has been on Robinul for about 3 years now. For some, it makes their

secretions too thick, but finding the right dose is the key. We started off on

a liquid form which the pharmacist has to mix so we could play with the dosing,

but as he got older, we have switched to tablets and just dissolve them.
