Actually according to the most up to date research, diets fail because the body

has a powerful biochemical system which kicks in when people are at a weight

lower than the body wants, to force a regain. I have experienced regain on the

same diet I lost weight on with exercising daily. that's when I did some

research and found this very enlightening speech by Rudy Leibel which explains

why we regain and no, it's NOT our fault at all.... apparently we do not really

have control over our weight - at least 95 percent of the public this is true

about. Here's the link - you can listen to his speech on the NIH... it's an

hour long but worth listening to. My article contains some of the highlights

from his talk and the link to his actual talk is at the end:

their pattern forever. It is not like we will get over needing food if we just

do without it for awhile. <<<<<<<<

Yes, but usually patients don't talk about it. It doesn't appear on

WLS-sites, people are too ashamed to talk about it. They think, they're

just as weak as ever and are called once again " non-compliant " by their

doctors.

Some doctor once said when it came to bariatric surgery (I'll try to

translate it as correct as possible): " We can shoot people up to the

moon, but yet we're using archaic methods to try to beat obesity. "

Best wishes

M.
