The men were posing as EMTs, but instead of transporting patients, they were hauling nearly 400 pounds of marijuana worth $500,000 on the street. Authorities arrested Whillhite, of Alvin, along with two other suspects after the men had mechanical problems with their ambulance and were forced to pull into a Shell gas station. The group’s trip began in Houston, and they were headed up Interstate 40 in Arkansas when it came to an end. Police say one of the men may actually be an EMT, but they are not saying which one. Officers at the scene found the drugs stuffed in cardboard boxes in the drawers and cabinets of the vehicle.
