I have slept for ten hours straight the last two nights and i still sleepy. ...This might have to do with depression im not sure. I just need way too much sleep, but then i can stay awake for long periods sometimes its weird I think its finally time for me to go see a doctor....My sister has said i should go for the past week, I seriously turn the alarm of during my sleep and i just cant wake up. im sick of being told im just lazy... At the CHARGE conference last year i missed the whole saturday night thing coz i lay down for a nap but fell alseep for likke five hours so this is so not a charge thing i dont think lol

Guest guest
Belinda- Aubrie also needs way more sleep than other kids her age. It really cuts into her productive time. She has to get to bed by 7:30. Other kids are up til 8:30 or 9. It reduces her time to play, do homework, whatever. She has a sleep study tonight. I'll let you know if we learn anything of value. I've always thought it was just that her body has to work so hard that she just is more tired. But maybe there's more to it than that. And maybe it's hereditary cuz I'd sleep a lot if I could - and so would her teen brother - but, then, well, he's a teenager! If you find out anything interesting, let me know. And I'll do the same. Guest guest
I've read so much about CHARGErs who don't need a lot of sleep, but my Carmen sleeps pretty darned good. She sleeps for about 10 hours at night and a 2 hour nap during the day. She is hard to get to sleep, but once she sleeps, she is out. And, I think it's true that my whole family is like that. 8 hours is just not enough for me. I drag until I can get a good 10 hours. My 5 year old non-charger is also a major sleeper. He'll stay up late and sleep in until 11 a.m. So, I agree it's probably not a CHARGE thing! B. > > Belinda- > > Aubrie also needs way more sleep than other kids her age. Guest guest
Hi Belinda Daytime sleepiness can be caused from sleep apnea, maybe you should go for a sleep study. Depression can cause sleep problems as well. Are you using any sleep medications? sometimes using these can make it hard to wake up. But maybe you just need more sleep! You probably work too hard. There is no rule that says you should only get 8 hours, most people dont get enough sleep. There is a drug called Provigil that helps with daytime sleepiness. You could ask your doctor. Guest guest
Belinda, I sleep at least eight hours a night. Sometimes more. And I am still tired. Every so often I find myself thinking about my bed during the day. Especially in the winter as I have a heating blanket that I warm up before I hop on in. I also know why you slept like you did at the conference. Come on now sweetie pie, you gave such a wonderful speech for the opening and then did the panel. You were beat to bits. I am surprised you didn't sleep more. Talk to your doctor but you know, it could just be that you like your sleep as much as I do. lol Bonnie, Mom to Kris 23, Patty CHARGE 21 and wife to
Guest guest
Belinda: Yet again, I can only echo Bonnie and others. I don't think I've ever out grown the teenage years when I could sleep a solid 12 hours. Recently, I've even started taking a nap in the evenings! I don't tell people about that! Guest guest
You should get tested for sleep apnea. Could be why you dont feel like you get enough sleep and why you snored. Chantelle -- My spelling's kinda wobbly. It's good spelling but the letters wobble and end up in the wrong places. - Winnie the Pooh

Guest guest
I agree, Chantelle. There are many possible causes for fatigue. Some are easy to find, others not so. A check with your health care provider seems like an important plan, Bel. Unless this was a very short-term problem, I would seek answers so that you can feel optimal.
