Thanks so much for helping me make up my mind about so many things lately...and

supporting me through my madness...

I need to buy a couch and the only one at the local store is red. ITs truley a

beautiful

couch. I am worried that I'll get sick of it...long before it expires.

THE guy said the other color it comes in is bronze, but that takes four weeks

to get

shipped in. MY lord...what are they doing...bringing it by way of camel across

the Arabian

continent???

I haven't seen so much as a swatch of the bronze...so who knows..maybe its

awful.

So...my back is out...really bad and I have no place to sit...just my bed...and

the floor. I

have been doing that for a month... I don't really want to wait another

month!!!

ANY way... I got my new puppy...he is brown and is three inches tall and will go

for his

new puppy appointment tommorow. HE already pooped in my new car. I hope he

doesn't

do that again.

THEY will give him shots and stuff. By early next week, I should have his

license and I will

be able to bring him to my new apartment. GEE...I can hardly take care of

myself...but I'll

tell you this much...the puppy sure gets my mind of my problems.

I have so many balls in the air. I don't know where the laundry room is...and I

made a

noise complaint...and don't think it was acknowledged. I just don't know what

is gonna

happen next.

Anyway...ALL of you take care PEACE and LIGHT...don't let the bed bugs bite..

My advice on the couch is... if you are having doubts about it now, when it is sitting in your living room you will see it daily and you will kick yourself every time you think of the money that you spent on it. There are many discount furniture places that sell good quality furniture at a low price. They have many colors to choose from and offer warranties and other things with their products. My aunt and uncle build furniture (couches and living room sets) for a living and have been doing it for over 20 years each. When telling them I was thinking of purchasing a new couch lately they told me the above about warehouses and this second: no matter the color, make sure the frame, springs, padding, etc. is what you want because even if you have to get it in a certain color, you can always buy slip covers later if you get tired of it, but it's not so easy to fix it if the springs are loose or the frame is already cracked lol. But being stuck with a couch that is uncomfortable when you buy it or that breaks because the frame is weak (even some high dollar ones do) that in 5-10 years, imagine just how much more broken down and uncomfortable it will be. Worse, imagine being stuck with a hideous pattern... *shudder* trust me... DON'T do that LOL.

Being as your back is out, comfort would be my first concern, quality would be 2nd and 3rd would tie with color and price.

I hope that helps!! What kind of puppy do you have?? I've been out of the loop for about a month and missed all kinds of useful info.

good luck,

andrea

Wow...so much to think about. I really wanted

something comfortable and well built. I've been

looking at couches for a while now and have to say

there is a of junk out there at all price points.

ITS most important to me that the thing is comfortable

and well constructed. This one I found is a lazy boy

from their new gallery that just opened up...so its at

a price reduction in celebration of the grand opening.

YEAH..right... ITS not cheap.

I love the red...I gravitated to it immediately

because its microfiber and its on the smaller side for

couches...at 84 inches.

Because its red though...

I worry that balancing it out in a small space may be

tricky. All red over here...none or little over

there..making things look kind of off.

I think its a really nice couch...and YES I could work

with the color. I;m good that way, but I have had it

my mind to go with all nuetrals until I get to the

accessories which are changeable as is the wall color.

I'm not a Rockafeller so I try to think of the

longevity factor, even as you are right you can buy a

cover. I really like having the couch without a cover

though...even as it is an option. I'd probably keep

it for life and get it reapolstered if I wanted a

color change before getting a cover.

So hard...

I think I may go with beige and light pink for my

bedroom. There are curtains to match on the crate and

barrel website and I have a coupon.

Puppy is a cocker spaniel poodly mix. He's a cutie.

I named him Starbuck which everyone says is

stupid...but for once I made a decision others are

just going to have to adjust too.:)

How are you ?

I've had my Lazy Boy loveseats for about 8 years now and they're just like the day I bought them. Plus, they've been moved six times! Good luck. I agree with your concern about being stuck with red for that length of time, unless you're a huge fan. I usually go neutral and then I can accent with the 'color of the year'... JudyP

Thanks judy p.... I think that helps.

I'll have to get my but back over there to talk about

broze...whatever that looks like...

Hope you are doing well. I'm dying of hunger all

day...every day these days. How in the world does one

keep up with a thing like that??? Maybe I was too

hypo for sooo long which squelched my appetite, and

now this seems totally odd or something.

Now that I'm out of bed and doing all this planning

stuff...its hard to remember to eat. I'll just have

to get some of this stuff out of the way...so I CAN

cook something.

When I was first on Armour, I was hungry all day long, but it subsided when I started the combo. I can of course get hungry for many other reasons. Do you eat when you're hungry? I have the hypoglycemia thing going on too, so I don't put off eating for long and have to eat something about 5 times each day. I was having a problem with compulsive eating and sugar eating though, (nothing to do with the thyroid (I think)), so I joined Overeaters Anonymous 64 days ago and have it under control for now. Some days I am hungrier than others, but I don't stay hungry when it strikes. I've stopped overeating, but that also means that I must stop undereating.

Are you just thinking that the thyroid has boosted your metabolism and you're hungry more often? If it's not that, it could be the effects of high fructose corn syrup if you still have any of that in the house. When I was still eating foods with that ingredient I couldn't stop eating all afternoon and everning. It had little to do with 'real' hunger though. Ignoring real hunger will only slow my metabolism down even more, so I'm trying to avoid that.

Can you elaborate on your hunger?

Oh Starbuck is adorable!! Thousands of coffee houses, but you're the first I know to have an after market puppy!! hehe.. maybe you can get her a green goddess collar to! LOL.

Red is a color that represents power, intensity, passion... balancing it with accents that have small amounts of red will do fine. We have two red comfy chairs and a couch that has some red in it and they work well with what we have. Darker furniture does go better with red than lighter although red is a color like black and white that will go with just about anything. Neutrals are good as well. I recommend a Feng Shui book to help you figure out the coloring and where to place everything. They work great and take the guess work out of decorating. Everyone that comes into our house thinks I hired a decorator or did hard work... really I just followed the layouts in the books LOL.

I'm doing well. Working full time in the deli of a Food Lion (grocery store) and I like it although we are having some issues hammering out how I will work in a bakery that bakes cinnamon :(. I have had anaphylactic symptoms the days they've used it so I'm going to have to come up with something. If nothing else works, I may need to transfer to another part of the store. No biggie... after I get that figured out, I'm still working on getting my braces and I see my periodontist Feb 8th and my allergist Jan 25th I believe for appointments to get me 'tweaked'.

As of right now I should have my braces by the fall *crosses fingers*. School is slowly crawling by. I missed the deadline to add classes for this semester so I am class-less this term. Maybe I'll add something in the Summer or Fall term. I've got to get some pre-requisite work done before I can apply to the nursing program, that will take me about a year. After my Associates (RN) I'll transfer into a Bachelor's program to get a Physician's Assistant degree and then off to Med School... so the plan is still there it just got switched up a lot. I am giving them no power or reason to say no to me LOL.

How is everyone doing??

Say hey to Starbuck for me.. good puppy!!

Judy P wrote: Can you elaborate on your hunger? . OKAY..Judy you win for getting a big cackle out of me today.. THAT is the funniest question EVER. LOL:) I was always really super skinny and it took me years after I kept passing out all over the place to realize my inordinant seeming hunger was not to be triffled with. If I was hungry...I needed to eat. Its always been hard for me to pace myself.

Now...I..think...not sure, but I'm guessing that now I'm returning to a warmer burning metabolism, I'm having to hurry to keep up with it. When I was really hypo...I could get away with a few sparse snacks...maybe on real meal and I could be okay. NOW...its like, I can barely get out of the kitchen with my coffee in the AM..before my tummy pastes itself to my backbone and I feel like my insides are eating me inside out.:) Its a lot of work to keep up with it... REALLY. Ya see, I'm not my normal skinny self yet, so It seems..FEELS like the wrong thing to do...to eat a lot. I feel hungry even after I've eaten..like twenty minutes..or so....so its just a strange thing now. I'm trying to drink a lot of water just to make sure its not that I'm thirsty...because I feel thirsty all the time too. I feel kinda like I have a hangover still

from this hypo thing..but its harder to deal with now...cuz I'm trying to get other stuff done. Ya know??? I feel like I don't have enough recipies in my new place...or enough ablitly to clean up after too... No dishwasher. Grrr. The girl misinformed me ont this point. So you go to over eaters anonymous? WOW...didn't know there was such a thing. I wonder how its coming along for you. I too think I have the hypoglycemia thing working against me...and that is probably not gonna go away. Thanks for asking... Did I answer it okay? ~E:) TOTAL-Thyroidectomy 26 months post-op.
